Recycled Tyre Material Applications

Diverse Applications,

Sustainable Impact

At AP Rubber Group we give end-of-life tyres a second life as crumb rubber, micronized rubber powder, radial wire, and steel shots — recycled tyre materials that serve industrial and retail applications alike.

They go into asphalt and bitumen modification, mats and flooring, sports and leisure surfaces, paints, coatings, adhesives, plastics, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), tyre manufacturing, the steel industry, shot blasting, and alternative fuel. Turning waste tyres into high-value materials is how we support zero-waste practice and a working circular economy.

Rubberized Asphalt and Modified Bitumen

A single-seat race car cornering on a smooth asphalt circuit, the kind of surface rubberized asphalt and modified bitumen are engineered for

Blended into bitumen, our crumb rubber and micronized rubber powder make roads more flexible and far more resistant to cracking under heavy traffic and extreme weather. Rubberized asphalt also damps road traffic noise, so the surface is quieter as well as longer-lived.

For bitumen modification, recycled tyre rubber is a cost-effective alternative to virgin polymer modifiers, and one that keeps end-of-life tyres in circulation. Road and infrastructure projects get durable, high-performance road construction materials without paying for that performance twice. See how the material is graded on our crumb rubber page.

Tyre Manufacturing

Our micronized rubber powder is an ultra-fine, high-purity material made from 100% TBR (Truck & Bus Radial) tread rubber for tyre manufacturing and rubber compounding. Consistent particle size means it disperses evenly through natural and synthetic rubber compounds, improving compound homogeneity, processing efficiency and abrasion resistance.

Replacing part of the virgin rubber in a formulation with recycled rubber powder holds the essential mechanical properties while lowering compound cost, and returns an end-of-life tyre to the product it came from. Our guide to micronized rubber powder covers the grades in detail.

Recovered Steel Wire for the Steel Industry

We supply recovered radial wire and steel shots separated from end-of-life tyres: ready-to-melt secondary raw material for steel recycling and steel manufacturing. Advanced separation takes the recovered steel clean enough to charge directly.

Mills melt it into steel billets, wire rods and structural steel, which cuts the draw on virgin steel and lifts resource efficiency. It is circular steel production with less industrial waste behind it and no concession on material quality. The separation stage is set out step by step on our process page.

Mats and Flooring

Our crumb rubber and micronized rubber powder go into rubber mats, rubber flooring, gym flooring and playground flooring. Recycled rubber is what gives those products their shock absorption, slip resistance, impact protection and noise insulation.

Those properties travel well: fitness centres, sports facilities, playgrounds, industrial workplaces, commercial spaces and animal flooring all draw on the same material. Manufacturers get durable, cost-effective rubber flooring materials, and a lighter environmental footprint than virgin feedstock allows.

Conveyor Belt Manufacturing

For conveyor belt manufacturing, our crumb rubber and micronized rubber powder are produced from 100% recycled TBR tread rubber. Consistent particle size and clean dispersion are what give conveyor belt compounds their abrasion resistance, flexibility and strength.

Belts built on those compounds run in mining, cement, steel, power, ports and general material handling, where a stoppage is expensive and service life is the specification that matters. Recycled feedstock holds that performance at a lower compound cost.

Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs)

Our ultra-fine micronized rubber powder is a performance enhancer for thermoplastic elastomers. Manufactured from 100% TBR tread rubber, it lifts elasticity, flexibility and impact resistance in TPE compounds while bringing raw material cost down.

Because the particle size is consistent it disperses evenly, which is what makes it workable in soft-touch components, grips, seals, consumer goods, automotive parts and industrial products. Formulators develop high-performance thermoplastic elastomer compounds on recycled input rather than virgin.

Paints and Coatings

As a rubber additive for coatings, our micronized rubber powder improves the flexibility, crack resistance and durability of a coating system. The ultra-fine particle size disperses readily into paints, protective coatings and industrial coating formulations.

It suits industrial coatings, waterproof coatings, roof coatings and other specialised formulations. Recycled rubber lets a formulator build a high-performance product on less virgin raw material than the same specification would otherwise need.

Shot Blasting and Surface Treatment

Our steel shots are recycled blasting media for shot blasting, surface preparation and metal surface treatment. Recovered from end-of-life tyres through advanced separation, they perform consistently across surface cleaning, descaling, rust removal, surface finishing and surface profiling.

Automotive, steel fabrication, foundry, engineering and manufacturing plants use them to prepare metal before coating, welding or painting. Swapping virgin abrasive blasting media for recycled steel shots cuts material waste without costing blasting performance.
